Capillary Flow Cells

Microscopy and Image Analysis Flow Cells

Capillary Flow Cells are designed to image biofilm formation in glass capillaries under a wide range of flow rates and surface shear conditions. These Flow Cells use square glass capillaries as viewing windows and flow channels. Each Capillary Flow Cell holds 4 glass capillaries in a capillary holder. The range of flow rates through the capillaries is much wider than is allowed in the flat plate flow cells. Fluid flow characterization from laminar to turbulent flow can be achieved in the Capillary Flow Cells.


FC 91 Capillary Flow Cells

 


The FC 91 Capillary Flow Cell is a 4-channel capillary flow cell. Each flow channel consists of a 1 mm ID square, borosilicate glass capillary. Wall thickness of the glass capillary is 0.15 mm, which allows use of high power objectives, including oil and water immersion objectives. The FC 91 Capillary Flow Cell is compatible with transmitted, reflected, fluorescence, and confocal microscopy. Barbed connectors provided are compatible with size 13 (1 mm ID) tubing (check flow cell dimensions for stage compatibility).

 


FC 93 Capillary Flow Cells

 


The FC 93 Capillary Flow Cell is a 4-channel capillary flow cell. Each flow channel consists of a 3 mm ID square, borosilicate glass capillary. Wall thickness of the glass capillary is 0.5 mm, which allows use of long working distance or low power objectives. The FC 93 Capillary Flow Cell is compatible with transmitted, reflected, fluorescence, and confocal microscopy. Barbed connectors provided are compatible with size 16 (3 mm ID) tubing (check flow cell dimensions for stage compatibility).
