Iron Oxide particles
The surface of the 50 nm particles is colloidal stabilized with carboxylic acid groups.
The particles possess nearly no sedimentation tendency.
The particles cannot be separated with conventional permanent magnets.
For magnetic separation, a high gradient magnetic system is recommended.

The 250 nm particles consist of monodisperse magnetite aggregates.
They can easily be separated with permanent magnets.
They possess a low tendency of sedimentation.
